NiX Spam DNSBL		NiX Spam is a procmail based spam filter developed by Bert Ungerer, an editor of the German IT magazine iX. The blacklist can be used to protect mailservers against spam.
NJABL-BHNC		Bad host, no cookie. These hosts have done things proper SMTP servers don't do. They're either horribly broken / misconfigured servers or, far more likely, spam proxies. We can't say much more about this. No supporting evidence is made available for listing these IPs.
NJABL-Combined		This zone used to be a combination of dnsbl.njabl.org and dynablock.njabl.org in a single zone (to reduce the number of queries for sites wanting to use both zones).
No-More-Funn		Designed to block SPAM and other stuff on a limited number of mail-servers.

RBL.JP-Short		This service is helpful to reject spam sent from ADSL or PPP connections which have dynamic IP addresses. Also, this is also helpful to reject spam sent from FLETS (Japan) connections and internet cafes.
RBL.JP-Virus		The Anti-virus RBL service helps reject virus-infected mail sent directly from PCs which are virus-infected themselves.

Abuse.ch-FastFlux Tracker		With the abuse.ch FastFlux Tracker you are know able to track FastFlux domains and all the bots which are assigned to it. Additionally the FastFlux Tracker shows you the location of the assigned bots on Google Maps. Last but not least there are two RSS feeds available to track FastFlux bots in your network (AS) or in your country.
Abuse.ch-Spam		The abuse.ch spam blacklist is no longer known as dnsbl.abuse.ch. The name has been changed to spam.abuse.ch. It should no longer be used on productive systems.
Abuse.ch-Web Abuse Tracker		A handful improvements where also made to httpbl.abuse.ch. The statistical page has been re-engineered. Additionally there is also a new Tracking system called abuse.ch Web abuse Tracker available.

Abusive Hosts Blocking List IRCBL		IRC network/server operators can now easily take advantage of our list in a no-nonsense fashion. Using a script such as the one here for Eggdrop in a major channel can help keep flooders and other annoying and abusive individuals from causing a problem.
Abusive Hosts Blocking List RHSBL		It is a list of domain names that spammers own and use in their UCE/UBE/spam. We do not list domain names that are not owned/operated by spammers, making this list very safe to use in checking against the From: address in e-mails.
SEM-BACKSCATTER		This list contains all IPs that sent mail to a spamtrap address with a NULL sender (<>) over the required threshold. All IPs are automatically expired after 15 days of inactivity.
SEM-BLACK		This list contains policy based listings and IPs sending mail to a spamtrap over the required threshold or reported by trusted users as sending a large volume of unwanted mail. IPs are automatically expired after 7 days of inactivity with the exception of policy based listings. The goal of this list is to have zero false positives.
SEM-NETBLACK		Experimental blacklist containing networks that have been detected as sending unwanted mail. This list may have collateral damage because IPs may be listed that were surrounded by spam sources. Networks automatically resize or expire as IPs expire from SEM-BLACK.
SpamChampuru DNSBL		Integrated spam filter "spam over-chan Puru" DNSBL based on data.
SpamHaus-PBL		DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer's use. The PBL helps networks enforce their Acceptable Use Policy for dynamic and non-MTA customer IP ranges.
SpamHaus-SBL/XBL		Realtime database of domains (typically web site domains) found in spam messages. Mail server software capable of scanning email message body contents for URIs can use the DBL to identify, classify or reject spam containing DBL-listed domains.

	Local Network Check	The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) allows software to identify and reject forged addresses in the SMTP MAIL FROM (Return-Path), a typical nuisance in e-mail spam. SPF is defined in Experimental RFC 4408	SPF allows the owner of an Internet domain to use special format of DNS TXT records to specify which machines are authorized to transmit e-mail for that domain. For example, the owner of the example.org domain can designate which machines are authorized to send e-mail whose e-mail address in the Return-Path ends with "@example.org". 	Local Network Check	DomainKeys is an e-mail authentication system designed to verify the DNS domain of an e-mail sender and the message integrity. The DomainKeys specification has adopted aspects of Identified Internet Mail to create an enhanced protocol called DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM).	Since 2004, Yahoo has signed all of its outgoing e-mail with DomainKeys and is verifying all incoming mail. As of 2005, Yahoo reports that the number of DomainKeys-verified e-mail messages they receive exceeds 300 million per day. We strongly recommend that you use this authentication technology.
WPBL	Local Network Check	Weighted Private Block List	WPBL is a private block list consisting of IP addresses which are connected to members' systems and and unsolicited mail senders.
DNSWL	Local Network Check	DNS Whitelist - Third party domain whitelisting.	DNSWL.org provides a Whitelist of known legitimate email servers to reduce the chances of false positives while spam filtering. DNSWL is checked by the current version of Spam Assassin. Abusive Hosts Blocking List	Local Network Check	Dial-up User List is a database for the dial-up users IP addresses. Addresses are provided by ISPs. The purpose of maintaining such a database is to provide technical possibility to recognize e-mail sent directly by dial-up users (thus by-passing ISPs mail server).	The AHBL is operated by a division of the Summit Open Source Development Group (SOSDG), a developer of open source technologies. Based on data pulled from various sources on the Internet, plus their own custom tracking tools and databases, the AHBL provides a highly useful database of known problematic machines on the Internet.

	Local Network Check	The Distributed Sender Blackhole List is a DNSBL that lists IP addresses of insecure e-mail hosts. DSBL can be used by server administrators to tag or block e-mail messages that come from insecure servers, which is often spam.	The DSBL lists contain the IP addresses of servers which have relayed special test messages to listme@listme.dsbl.org; this can happen if the server is an open relay, an open proxy or has another vulnerability that allows anybody to deliver email to anywhere, through that server. Note that DSBL itself doesn't do any tests; it simply listens for incoming test messages and lists the server that delivers the message to DSBL's mail server.

VirBL	Local Network Check	VIRBL is a project to make it harder for viruses to spread and get the load down on virusscanners by blocking e-mail from IP addresses that are known to spread viruses.	After receiving at least two infected e-mails from a host within 24 hours, the IP address (NOT the e-mail address) gets listed. Hosts will be automatically delisted if he have not seen any viruses coming from that host in 24 hours.
NJABL	Local Network Check	NJABL.ORG is Not Just Another Bogus List.	NJABL.ORG maintains a list of known and potential spam sources (open relays, open proxies, open form to mail HTTP gateways, dynamic IP pools, and direct spammers) for the purpose of being able to tag or refuse email and prevent at least some spam.

(Source: SORBS.NET as of February 8, 2006)	SORBS has been criticized due to their blacklisting of free email services such as Gmail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail, as well as mail servers at major paid service providers, such as SBC/AT&T in the U.S. This is a consequence of SORBS' spam database listing policy: any IP address that sends spam to the SORBS spamtrap addresses gets listed. Because spammers use viruses, malware and rootkit techniques to make unknowing users' computers send spam, the SORBS database will list unknowing users' mail servers. Wide networks of computers sharing the same IP address using network address translation may also suffer, because if one mail server on the network gets infected by a virus, the whole NAT'd network (even thousands of computers, though usually limited to a small office or home) will be blacklisted.

Dcc	Local Network Check	The DCC or Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse is a system of thousands of clients and more than 250 servers collecting and counting checksums related to more than 150 million mail messages on week days. The idea of the DCC is that if mail recipients could compare the mail they receive, they could recognize unsolicited bulk mail.	Checksum-based filters take advantage of the fact that spam is mostly identical. To pass check-sum filters modify your email template, modify your headers, if your tests still fail consider using an alternative IP address.
	Local Network Check	The Spamhaus Block List (SBL) is a realtime database of IP addresses of spam-sources, including known spammers, spam gangs, spam operations and spam support services. The database is kept updated around the clock by Spamhaus Project workers around the world.	Spamhaus is responsible for three widely-used anti-spam DNSBLs — the Spamhaus Block List (SBL), the Exploits Block List (XBL), and the Policy Block List (PBL). Many internet service providers and other Internet sites use these free services to reduce the amount of spam they take on. The SBL, XBL and PBL collectively protect over 500 million e-mail users, according to Spamhaus' web page (December 2006). Like most DNSBLs, their use is controversial. Delivery audit runs your campaign through all SpamHaus tests.

This is an extensive list of IP addresses of known insecure ("open relay") mail servers. TMRS is carefully maintained and only contains IP addresses that are known to have relayed spam via an open relay. All listings are investigated and confirmed to be an insecure server. When an IP address is added to this list, effort is made to contact the owner of the server and alert them that they have an open relay that is being abused, allowing them to correct the problem. 	Local Network Check	Composite Blocking List	The CBL takes its source data from very large spamtraps/mail infrastructures, and only lists IPs exhibiting characteristics which are specific to open proxies of various sorts (HTTP, socks, AnalogX, wingate etc) which have been abused to send spam, worms/viruses that do their own direct mail transmission, or some types of trojan-horse or "stealth" spamware, without doing open proxy tests of any kind.
